Time for a long overdue blog post about my time at Magnetic North.
After visiting the company in Manchester back in the beginning of February, I decided to chance my luck and get back in touch to enquire if I could return for a week to gain some experience in the workplace. I immediately got an email back saying they were really happy to offer me a weeks experience, so come August off I went to Manchester for a few days.
During my time here I got to experience working within a larger digital agency, deepening my knowledge of the company structure and getting the opportunity to contribute to one of their live projects, focused around interactive wayfinding. I worked on bringing a personality to the project as well as considering the user experience. I did this through research, paper prototypes and wireframes, presenting my concepts to various members of the magnetic north team and receiving positive feedback.
As my first time working within a design agency, this was an extremely valuable learning experience and gave me a good understanding of the way agencies operate.
